Maggie is a self-taught artist from Brandon, Mississippi. She first began painting in December of 2015 at the age of 21, ordering a set of cheap paints and brushes on a whim after watching a few online tutorials to get started. After all these years, she remains dedicated and is continuing to explore and evolve.
Her artistic inclination was nurtured early on by her parents, especially her mother, who recognized her creative nature early on and frequently integrated creative projects into her homeschooling. Among many things, Maggie considers the continuation of her creative endeavor as a way of honoring her mother’s memory and efforts.
Through her art, she not only finds joy in learning and experimentation, but has also learned many valuable life-lessons; the discipline she has cultivated over the years in order to continue painting through life’s ups and downs has enriched her life beyond the realm of art. She aspires to continue growing in this way, and to share her faith and experiences with others, as she further explores and creates.

The act of painting helps me to stay grounded and appreciative of the little things in life. I hope to never be too busy or distracted to pause and be still and thankful in a moment. Painting is a way for me to stay intentional about this, in a world where one's attention can be too easily encumbered.
I consider my paintings to be expressions of the joy and gratitude I have for the life I’ve been given.
